PPM - Energie aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen GmbH, which has been established in 1999, has developed an innovative technology for the production of fatty acid methylester (FAME) made of virgin vegetable oil and used vegetable oil and is manufacturing new production units based on this technology.

Fetty acid methylester (better known as "Biodiesel" - according to standard EU Nr. 2003/30/EC dated 8. Mai 2003 about the facilitation of utilisation of bio fuel and the source renewable energy for the transport for the production of fuels) are the basis for this fuel. 100 - per pence fatty acid methylester can also be used as fuel. Until 2010 the rate of biodiesel is supposed to reach 5,75% in the total quantity of fuels.

PPM is also manufacturing Biogas units according to their own, in Asperhofen and Berlin, developed technology. Out of the gained Biogas electricity and heat energy are generated in co generation units.
